Volume Six ~ Unmasked Hearts
Updated December 4, 2019
February 5, 2018 ~ The Volume Six books have arrived and I've sent them out to the ones who had pre ordered them. I've heard that they can be purchased at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. They can also be ordered from my publisher, iUniverse. You can get signed copies here on my website and at ebay.com under Dangerously Curved Fashions. I'd like to send a huge thank you to all of you who have waited patiently for this volume to be released. Hopefully, the next volume won't be such a struggle or take as long.
January 27, 2018 ~ I just heard from the printer. My order of books will be shipped out on the 30th or 31st. I'll ship them just as soon as I get them.
January 16, 2018 ~ I've ordered my copies to sell on this site. I should receive them in a week or two, and then I can ship them out.
January 15, 2018 ~ This volume is now ready for pre-order, finally! Thank you for your patience during this long struggle.
January 12, 2018 ~ My web host is having difficulties with certain aspects of my site. Just as soon as they are corrected, this volume will be ready to pre-order.
January 7, 2018 ~ Volume Six is now at the printers and will be ready to pre-order in a day or two; it will then be released in a week or two. I sigh deeply to finally be telling all of you this good information. I will update this information soon. The sketch for this volume is on the right.
October 25, 2017 ~ I’m sorry to say that there is another delay due to health and editing issues, but the editing issue is a good issue. The read will be much better. Since I didn’t have a professional editor this go around, I’ve been constantly uneasy with the way this volume was being edited. However, I now have a professional editing program that is taking all the worry out of the process. The problem being, I now have to go through another read to make it perfect. I hate to do that to all my faithful readers, but this will make not just this volume but all the volumes to come be much easier and quicker to release. I thank you for your understanding and patience.
October 14, 2017 ~ The finished book block has been received from the publisher. Now it’s time for the final read to catch any last errors or needed changes in the manuscript or the book cover. Once that is done, it goes back to the publisher, and then they can release it. I know this has been a very long time in coming, but it will be in print very soon.
August 19, 2017 ~ The suggestions from the publisher’s evaluator have been entered into the manuscript, and it has been sent back to the publisher for them to proceed with the production process. Not much longer!
August 10, 2017 ~ The evaluator at my publisher has sent me suggestions to polish my manuscript, so I’m in the process of implementing those suggestions now. I’m about ¾ completed. I should have it finished in a few days. At that point, I’ll send it back to my publisher, and they will continue to put it through the finishing process. Perhaps another month and it should be in print.
June 2, 2017 ~ The manuscript has been printed and taken to my reviewer, Susan Rueppel, Chief Intuition Officer. www.WINtuition.com. Once she reads it and forms a review, it will be posted on this website.
May 18, 2017 ~ Another progressive step has been made. All the necessary materials have been gathered and taken to Judy Coppola, my artist, so she can make the interior sketch for this volume.
May 12, 2017 ~ The manuscript has been sent to the publisher. Now I wait for them to send me the book block for me to read through—one final time. We’re getting so close.
April 30, 2017 ~ The day has finally come! The manuscript is finished and ready to go to the publisher. I just need to talk to my contact at the publishers on Monday before I actually send it. It's all done electronically; the minute I hit the send button is the minute they receive it. I don't have to wait for the snail male. Now, the next project is to get the sketch (for the interior of the volume) finished, so they can insert it. I also need to make a copy of the manuscript to send to the reviewer.
April 12, 2017 ~ I've found the new location for the photo shoot for the interior sketch. Since the last location was washed away by high water, I had to find a new one. The picture of it (minus the cars and people) is on the right. It's located near the Duck Lake in the William Land Park in Sacramento, CA. We took all the pictures I need to send to the artist so she can do the final sketch. Now I just need to choose which pictures I want to use. We're getting there.
April 7, 2017 ~ I'm now halfway finished with compiling the manuscript. I"m still on track for the August release date.
March 26, 2017 ~ I've just received the last of the chapters from the final editor. That part of the editing process is complete.
March 19, 2017 ~ I'm one third finished with compiling the manuscript. I'm still on schedule for sending the completed manuscript to the publisher in April.
February 10, 2017 - Hello my fellow Phantom phans. At last, I have some good news. After a long illness, (hospital stays and the whole 9 yards,) I’m now back in the swing of things. I’ve started redoing the chapters that are posted on my website so that they read smoother. At the same time, I’m compiling the chapters into the final manuscript so that I can send it to the publisher. My schedule is to have that finished in April. My publisher estimates a 2 or 3 month processing time before sending it to the printer. They take about 2 weeks to set it up for printing and shipping. If all goes as planned, I should be able to start taking orders in May and start shipping in August. I’ll periodically post updates on my progress. I thank all of you for your patience and loyalty.
September 9, 2016 ~ I've purchased the props for the interior sketch. You can see them on the right side of this page. The next step is to get my models together and take the pictures for the artist.
August 28, 2016 ~ I've begun the compiling of the chapters into one manuscript in preparation for sending the finished product to the publisher and the reviewer. Hopefully, that will be completed by the 1st of October, 2016.
August 20, 2016 ~ More good news! The third editor has finished her work, and the last editor only has 7 more chapters to finish. She could be finished in about a week, and then I can start compiling the chapters into one manuscript, which will make it ready to send to the publisher and the reviewer.
July 16, 2016 - Finally some good news! I've signed the contract for volume six with my publishers. They are starting the preparation to receive my manuscript as I write this, and I'm hoping to send it to them within the next three months. Baring any additional unwanted events, this volume will move along quickly.
August 13, 2015 - I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, again, but, because of serious events in the lives of my editors, the editing of the sixth volume has come to a standstill. One of my editor’s father has died, and for anyone who has had a parent die you know all the work that’s involved in taking care of their estate, not to mention the emotional grief of all concerned in the family.
Another editor has received notice that she has to move, (she is the one who had her husband and two other family members die almost at the same time) and she has 30 years of married life to sort through.
Another editor has had several medical issues to heal from, and they have all taken a toll on her energy and time. I’m also having personal medical issues that are slowing me down; or is that my age, I say with tongue in cheek.
Another editor has had serious family issues that have hit her so hard that she was never able to commit to editing this volume, and she was my main and final editor that I really counted on to make certain my writing was in order. The void her absence has made makes it necessary for the rest of us to pick up the slack and try to fill her shoes, which is time consuming and impossible, but we’re trying our best.
All of the above situations have made it necessary for me to change the October release date. I wouldn’t even venture a guess at a new one, and this makes me very sad for all of my faithful readers. It is for this reason that I’ll be releasing a new chapter from this volume every month until I finally have a release of the entire book. I hope that in some way this will help soothe your disappointment. If the chapter releases get that far, I will also release this volume’s sketch, and you know a picture says a thousand words.

June 15, 2015 - The last of the chapters have been sent to both the second and third editors. The next step is to get the entire manuscript to the reviewer.
May 23, 2015 - Finally, I have good news to report. I've finished the compiling of the scenes into chapters, and I've also finished the first round of edits. Things should move along faster now. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
February 15, 2014 - I'm sending all of my faithful followers a large thank you for being so patient for this volume six release. I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted any current information, and I apologize for that neglect. I’d like to let you know that I haven’t abandoned this sixth volume – Erik is still alive and well and working hard to secure a good future.
I’ve had to take on a secular job to not only help one of my daughters with her business but also to finance the publishing of this next volume. I’m close to finishing the rewrites and the first three rounds of edits, perhaps another two-three months.
I’m also in the process of finding a location and the props for the sketch of this volume. As of right now, I have the models and a possible location for the sketch. In addition, I’m preparing the first half of the manuscript for the final editor. My goal is to have the manuscript and sketch to my publisher by the end of May, with the final goal of a release sometime in September of this year. Once more, I apologize to all of you for the delay in releasing this volume.
June 29, 2013 - For all of you who have been sending me such nice notes about my version of Erik’s life, I want to say a humongous thank you. Your encouragement warms my heart and helps to keep me focused on Erik's story. I do have some bad news though. For many of the same reasons that I couldn’t get the fifth volume out when I wanted to, I also can’t get this sixth volume out on time. I have five daughters with families, and all of them are living through stressful times. So I’m trying to be a good mother, grandmother, and friend by helping them. This is taking away from my writing, but I will try my best to get “Unmasked Hearts” out by the first of the year. Right now, I’m about halfway finished with the rewrites and edits. I’ll also add to this post on a more regular basis to keep you informed of my progress.
